Little Stony Creek

This little creek is a minor tributary of the New River and heads at Mountain Lake. In January 1996 melting snow and heavy rains turned Little Stony into a raging torrent. When the waters receded, three of the bridges and much of the trail were gone. The U.S. Forest Service allocated $400,000 to rebuild the trail and make improvements at the trailhead.

The trail leads to the very scenic Cascade Falls just a few miles up the road from Pembroke, Virginia
