The Greatest Gifts

The greatest gifts you'll ever give
Though with them never part
Are simply these: a helping hand,
And a selfless, loving heart.

We all of us have a road to take.
That road is the road of life.
We each of us have a share of joy
And each a share of strife.

And since we all must travel that road,
In sunny or stormy weather.
We each can lighten the other's load
If we all pull along together.

You are my brother and I love you;
You are my sister and I care;
We are god's children; let's lift each other
And one another's burdens share.
