A Friend

Of all the treasures one can find
Until his life has reached it's end,
There really isn't anything
Of greater value than a friend.

A friend is all you'll ever need
When times of crisis are at hand
And you are looking all about
For someone who will understand.

And when a sadness fills your heart
And only darkness you can see,
It helps a lot to have a friend
Who at your side right then can be.

Or if you feel a loneliness
That simply will not go away
It's wonderful to have a friend
To bring you smiles across the day.

I know it would be hard for me
Without a loyal friend or two;
Especially the kind of friend
that I have always found in you.
