My LDS Mission

The Mission Home (Headquarters)

Up until I left the Mission Training Center I had not met any of the Elders who were going to the same Mission as I was.  We had several hours to get acquainted as we flew from Salt Lake to Denver and then on to Dulles International Airport in the DC area.  We then took a very small plane to the Roanoke airport.  I nearly lost my lunch on that very turbulent flight.

It was then that we were taken to meet our Mission President, James W. Ritchie.  He and his family lived in the Mission Home (or headquarters for the mission).  His office was in one part of the home and his residence was in another.

We stayed in the mission home for a couple of days getting some mission specific direction.  On the third day we were sent off to our first assigned areas and met our Trainers (first companions).

I was told that Sister Evans and I would be traveling by bus to Norfolk where a church member would be there to take us to Edenton, North Carolina.
